Dr. Petrie has the rare balance between a fine, caring bedside manner and the confidence that exudes from a surgeon who knows what to do to bring a person back to perfect health. In my postoperative follow up session, while describing all that was wrong with my rotator cuff, he took professional pride in the challenge of the operation and how results were textbook outcomes for a newly rebuilt shoulder. Warning - he is conservative, but if you want the highest probability for a lifetime of pain free use, adhere to his program. The daily software interactions are also reassuring and useful.

Had a total reverse shoulder replacement 2 weeks ago and I could not be more pleased. This doctor, his staff, and his surgical team are exemplary. I was terrified and the comfort level that they provided on every level was absolutely amazing. They treated me, Sherry, not just a number, but ME. They listened and they actually heard me. The scar is minimal, as well as the pain, which I certainly did not expect. Their follow-up is almost the way I helicopter my kids. Everybody said this was the dude... this IS the dude!!

Amazing surgeon, Dr. Petrie performed a complicated shoulder surgery which took more than three hours. I took my physical therapy very seriously and in each follow up appointment I showed solid gains and he was really happy that I took the PT so seriously, as when patients don’t, the outcomes are not nearly as positive. He has an excellent bedside manner and is always pleasant to see as my lengthy rehabilitation continues. I don’t ever want another rotator cuff surgery, however, if I did I would not see anyone but Dr. Petrie and his very capable staff.

Several years ago I saw Dr Petrie for my shoulder. I liked him very much and he explained my situation to me. He told me I had a slight tear in my rotator cuff. It didn't bother me again until March of this year. I went back to see and this time it was a completely different visit. He said it didn't look bad, gave me a cortisone shot and offered physical therapy. He didn't go over the X-ray with me or take time to explain anything. He seemed to be in a hurry to get on to the next patient. I was very disappointed in the visit.
I went and got a second opinion and Dr. Gregorious was wonderful. He looked at the X-ray immediately told me that I have a torn rotator cuff. He went over the X-ray, drew a picture of the rotator cuff explaining how it works and what will have to be done to fix it. I'll have an MRI which will determine if I need a new shoulder or just the rotator cuff repaired.
What a difference in the 2 doctors and there approach with their patients.

Dr. Petrie is a straight shooter. Is very patient and takes his time explaining exactly what will happen pre and post op. His team is very thorough and insure you’re as comfortable as possible before and after surgery. I really benefited from the portal checking on your progress after surgery. Lots of good information on what to expect. Overall a really good experience for my first surgery ever. Great results so far 3 weeks after surgery. Thanks!

THANK YOU Dr. Petrie for a great job addressing my full ACL reconstruction and Meniscus repair. Also thank you Dr. Petrie for asking me not to rush for surgery and pushing me to do Knee Rehab prior to surgery which is now helping me recover faster from full ACL surgery. I went to see 3 Ortho surgeons and your experience, great way of educating patients, coming up with a great game plan for the best outcome and quick recovery made the decision making part very easy to go with you for proper care and surgery at that very first visit. I also appreciate your post surgery calls to ensure I am doing OK and comfortable. That meant a lot to be honest. Kerri your PA was also amazing and very thorough with her instructions pre and post surgery. Thank you both for everything !! I hope I don’t break anything else going forward, but If I do, I know where to go now.
