Great atmosphere, lovely people, and very inexpensive haircuts. You get a different student barber every time (you might be able to request a specific student? I've never asked), so your cut may vary a bit between visits, but you won't be able to find another haircut anywhere near as affordable in the DC area. It's been a great low-stakes way to figure out my style (and learn how to communicate what I want my hair to look like) in the past couple years of being new to short hair.

I stumbled upon this hidden gem when I noticed an intersection sign advertising affordable haircuts. Curiosity led me to discover that it's actually a barber institute where students gain practical experience. Intrigued by the concept, I decided to give it a try, seeing it as a win-win situation. A few days ago, I walked in and was politely informed by a staff member that there might be a slight wait. After patiently waiting for about 25 minutes, it was finally my turn. The student barber who attended to me was not only pleasant and professional, but also meticulous in his work, paying attention to even the smallest details. I was extremely satisfied with the outcome and will definitely return to this place. It comes with my highest recommendation.

Best place to have the hair cut , even though it is student hair Saloon where students will be performing the hair cut, they were well trained and monitored by the head person. So happy with the service for the price we pay. I recommend this to my friend and family.

I LOVE this place. Three great cuts here. Super clean establishment. Super professional - nicer and more stylish interior than many full price barber shops - honestly you'd never know it was a school except for the mannequin heads. Really nice people, eager and skilled students, fantastic friendly owner that checks up to ensure you are getting a pro level cut! Absolutely great place.

The students are amazing. My student barber was great. I forgot his name but he had braids. But the owner/manger is one of the rudest people I’ve ever seen my student barber was asking for help and the owner/manger was rude to him and practically didn’t wanna help him. Then my student barber apologized to me I could tell he was hurt by what is boss said and how he treated him. It’s a shame a teacher can just belittle someone like that.

This place is great. I can't praise this place enough. Plus, the owner, is an absolute maestro when it comes to haircuts. His professionalism and attention to detail are second to none.
