I have had the worst experience in my life dealing with this place. I went in to get help with my health issues willing to do what was asked of me to receive the help that I needed. They asked me to do physical therapy and I asked if they could fill out paperwork for me for my job in order for me to be able to go and keep my job. I was told sure no problem. I was thinking great but boy was I wrong. My first and only visit was in September I called every week several times each week reminding them that the paperwork needed to be sent back it had a deadline. I asked if they would fax the documents they said they didn’t have a fax so it had to be picked up. When finally got word back from my job I found out that they didn’t allow me enough time off for my situation and I gave them more paperwork to fix that one thing and they went right back to holding on to the paperwork it went past the deadline and when I finally received word from my job this time they left the time allowed away from work blank. Funny thing where they didn’t have a fax machine before I found out that they fax the paperwork. Listen if you decide to go ahead and go to this facility in Winston Salem I would hope that you received better care than I did. The doctor was Christopher Gilmore and his nurse Maria. She was very rude he seemed nice but obvious didn’t care because at the end of the day I called and left messages never got a call back so this my warning to you go and see someone else.

The doctors and staff are great. You couldn’t ask for any better than doctor Caldwell or Doctor Gilmore. I have been seen here for over 10 years but will be leaving due to the office Management. They need to do themselves a favor and find a new one she is turning this into a cluster.

Dr Kapural was highly recommended but seeing him once was enough for me. I have had very unusual diagnosed “migraines” after two severe whiplash injuries. I started suffering with 8/10 to 10/10 excruciating pain that starts at the base of my skull. Not sure why it started to occur daily and I still don’t know because it isn’t anymore. Anyway, at the time I was DESPERATE. I had to keep missing work, any and all meds barely worked. If you have never been in the kind of pain where you feel like you want to die just to end the suffering, consider yourself lucky….Anyway my point is this what I’m dealing with seeing this MD for the first time. He has me wait 45 minutes. Again, I was desperate for a good doctor so I waited. I let him know right away I don’t want narcotics (had them one time and vomited profusely). He immediately smugly said “good I wasn’t going to give you any.” The appointment deteriorated from there as I tried to fill him in on what was going on versus what I had been diagnosed with and how I felt misdiagnosed. He did not want to do any imaging of my neck. (Hadn’t been done since the pain ramped up to this frequently). He started raising his voice because I disagreed with him and I told him how he kept me waiting for 45 minutes and I didn’t wait for this attitude so I got up and attempted to leave. He physically blocked the door and half heartedly apologized and promised he would listen. So I stayed. He wanted to do a nerve block and nerve ablation if the block took. I did not let him know I worked in surgery and pointed out I wanted a root cause to be found and not temporary treatment. (Ablations are less effective over time but of course that is never mentioned). I also felt I had nerve damage and did not want a surgery that causes more damage. Once he decided what he wanted to do and that we disagreed, he stopped listening to my ideas so I left. No treatment. No caring on his end. Despite me telling him it was the kind of pain I would be willing to end my life over if it didn’t stop soon.

I went to see Dr. Ajam At the pain Institute. He is an incredible and compassionate physician. This was my first appointment, and he showed sincere And very much concern over my medical issues. He has an excellent rapport with patients. All he wanted to do was to find out the best way to help me. I would highly recommend him.

This is the best run doctors’ office I’ve ever had the pleasure of going to. From the smiling staff at Sign-In to the fantastic doctor or P.A., it’s a wonderful experience! I found myself at Carolina Pain Institute because my doctor of 8 years was retiring. I was worried about the change. The first time I saw Dr Gilmore, I was immediately impressed. I knew I had found the best physician for my situation. His staff is amazing and efficient. I love this place!

I have been seeing Dr. Gilmore's PA Chad for 10 years. I have found Carolina Pain to be a very good pain clinic. They are compassion & caring. They offer pain management and Dr Gilmore does procedures to help relieve pain as well. They do hold the patient accountable with a yearly pain contract, but that should be expected.

I have been going there for double digit years. Dr. North and his staff have always taken great care of me. They talk to me and developed plans that has really improved the quality of my life. They listen to me and respect everything that I have to say, and then will give me advice on the correct direction to go.
