Doctors are fine but front office has no idea how to treat patients. I’ve been patient for approx 10 years. I’ve had 3 surgeries with high deductible insurance and paid every penny on time. Then yesterday I’m asked to pay a $4 balance before I can see doctor! That’s bull, crude, and rude. Never going back again. St. Luke’s thanks you Doris for their new patient.

This place is amazing! Everyone is very helpful, friendly and most of all compassionate. I’ve had to schedule my physical twice and both times I saw Cory, the PA. She is AWESOME! Cory made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. She was able to answer all of my concerns. I would definitely recommend Eye Institute of West Florida! Make sure to see Cory!

Everyone, fron the receptionist to the staff very friendly and professional. I was tested and briefed by several specialists who showed a high degree of empathy and care. They cared about my concerns. Their counselor at the end was excellent on explaining both pre and post surgical expections and financing. Doctor was friendly. All in all a very positive experience.

Dr.Byrd, her assistant and front desk staff are exceptional! They are very thorough in their assessments and understanding towards kiddos who wiggle, whine and worry! Dr.Byrd answered all of my questions as a concerned mom and her assistant was phenomenal as well. Left with a doctors note and prescription same day and a list of resources to find a provider within my insurance. Would recommend based off service! The reason for a less than 5 star review is due to the customer service/billing team.

Nicole in finance is a terror to work with. She has become very defensive and essentially refusing my disabled child medical care by withholding information from other team members to be able to process the claim. Her demeanor is condescending and she lacks interpersonal skills. They are refusing to run my active insurance because “Medicaid does not work that fast”. To their dismay, they actually do and I provided them with all proof for them to continuously say they will be charging me as “self pay”. When I mentioned to them I have insurance and they just need to run it, they refused. This issue will be escalated with the finance manager, Collette.

Update: Did not receive a call back from Nicole or Collette. Just a phone call from a representative stating that my insurance “all of a sudden” is active and that I’m good to go. This came after I attempted to escalate the issue.

It pains me to leave this review because Dr Johnson has been my eye doctor for 25 years. I drive from Tampa to see him because he is so great but today Bonnie in his office was rude and hung up on me. I was simply calling for a status on an order that should have been placed in July. How she treated me is unacceptable.

After going to them for years, I called for an appointment, but was blown off. Wow. Guess serving all that water, coffee and pastries is keeping you too busy. I think I can find an eye doctor who is more concerned about saving and correcting vision than running a cafe. What's next? A glass of wine while performing a mani-pedi?

The place is good. The doctors are prefessional and the treatments that they offer are high quality. We got a pretty good doctor.. he's very knowledgeable, but sometimes he seems moodie or tired, and that leaves you wondering. Regardless, he's very good and I would recommend the place and treatments. The nurses and aides are outstanding!!! 5-star! There is this wonderful lady that opens the door for us every single time that we go, and she's a JOY, a DOLL, so sweet and KIND! always with a smile on her face, and always attentive.. THERE ARE 2 LADIES AT THE FRONT DESK THAT CHECK YOU IN. THEY ARE A REAL PAIN YOU KNOW WHERE! THEY'RE MOODY, THEY BOTH GET ANNOYED WITH HUMAN'S PRESENCE. THEY ARE TRULY OBNOXIOUS. IF WE SPEAK SPANISH, THEY GIVE YOU A LOOK, AND TREAT YOU LIKE CRAP. IF YOU SPEAK ENGLISH THEY TREAT YOU BAD, AND IF YOU'RE TRANSALATING, THEY ROLL THEIR EYES. THEY DON'T DESERVE TO BE AT THE FRONT DESK. THIS CLINIC CAN DO BETTER THAN THEM FOR SURE. AS YOU WALK IN, THEY DON'T EVEN GREAT YOU, THEY SIMPLY SAY "DO YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMEBNT?" (no lady I am just passing by... OF COURSE I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT!!!, AND HELLO BY THE WAY! GOOD MORNING, GOOD AFTERNOON, SOMETHING FOR GOD SAKE!!!) They most certainly can irritate any human passing by. garanteed! and if you're "lucky" enough to get them again upon check out, whatever treatment or news the doctor could had give you is nothing compared with the sourness that you have to pass through your throat again with either of them. We had been dealing with this 2 awkward ladies for the past 4 months, and I can tell you... it's frustating... other than them.. great practice! We highly recommended the place!!!

My mother had a procedure done by Dr. Neel R. Desai months ago. Initially we went based on the reviews because they are good. The place is dirty , looks very outdated, the staff look unhappy, and no bedside manner from the Dr. . When my mother stated to the Dr the procedure was painful his reaction was “ I haven’t heard that before”- not very professional. The wait time is unbelievable but that isn’t a dealbreaker . If you care about your parents - I wouldn’t recommend this facility. My mother’s GP even said they run their facility more like an assembly line .
